General Rules

  1. Please bring your Identity Card while entering in to the library, and swipe ID card
    at the library entrance while entering and going out from the library.
  2. Keep your bags and personal belongings outside the library.
  3. Reference Books are not lent outside.
  4. Combined Reference Work or group discussion is not allowed inside the Library.
  5. Silence should be maintained inside the library.
  6. Always communicate to library staff about your needs.
  7. Books should not be misplaced in the shelf and handled with care.
  8. Students are advised not to leave money and valuables in their bags
    outside the library.

Book Issue and Return, Renewal, Reservation

Rules for Students

  1. PG students are allowed to take 5 books at a time and UG students can issue 3 books, Research scholar is allowed to take 8 books other than reference books.
  2. Once a book is issued, it will be issued for 14 days, the same can be renewed once if that particular book is not demanded by others.
  3. Reservation of a book can be done from the OPAC in the library or from the link to Library catalogue of Library website by a member. A book shall be reserved for one day.
  4. Overdue charges of Rs. 1 will be levied if a book is returned after the due date prescribed.
  5. The students are not allowed to exchange or pass round the library books or lend them to those in or outside the College. Students are not allowed issue books on behalf of other students.
  6. Damage to or loss of books on loan should be immediately reported to the librarian in writing and the members may replace such books or pay fine, as per the government norms.
  7. Final year students of PG and UG must return library books before their study holidays.
  8. Books issued for the Onam and Christmas holidays should be returned in the reopening day itself.

Rules for Staff

  1. A Faculty can borrow 14 books, Guest Faculties and Non Teaching staff is allowed to issue 5 books from the library.
  2. Books are issued for 14 days same can be renewed twice once if the particular book is not required by others.
  3. Overdue charges of Rs 1 will be levied if a book is detained beyond due date.
  4. Each Department head is given an HOD card. Every department Head is allowed to issue 21 books for duration of six months.
  5. Report immediately in writing to the librarian about the loss of ID cards and Books.
  6. All staff and faculty members must return all the issued library books before march 31st of every academic year.
